Many come from different parts of the world. Some for the wonderful resources made available at no charge for continuing education, armed services or to learn what an HBCU is all about. Some people travel to cheer on their favorite college or high school team in a (2) day tournament. Some travel to the midwest to spend the holiday time with family and enjoy the fun filled family friendly activities for all. Whatever the reason “Its not just basketball”. The Fresh Coast Classic Basketball Tournament goes FULL CIRCLE! The creation of the tournament was implemented by individuals within the Running Rebels Community Organization. Take a listen at testimonies and how this organization and the classic has impacted lives.
Branden Joseph – Given the opportunity Branden attended college at Central State University (one of the Fresh Coast Classics first HBCU teams to play in the 2006 tournament). These young men took life situations by the “basketball” and are now giving back to youth and mentoring in the Violence Free Zone (VFZ) program within MPS schools. Congratulations Branden for jobs well done.
