9th Annual 2015 Fresh Coast Classic
Over the past years, the Fresh Coast Classic has proven to be more than a basketball tournament. It is a regional event that exposes Milwaukee area adults and students to the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the educational opportunities available at these prestigious institutions, as well as an exposure to many other colleges and resources available to students country-wide. It’s a celebration that commemorates academic achievement, tradition and sportsmanship that continues to be an entertainment-filled, family-friendly weekend with something for everyone.
1st Annual 2015 Senior Showcase Basketball Game
The Fresh Coast Classic – is proud to present the 1st Annual Senior Showcase Basketball Game- Saturday, April 25, 2015 – Mount Mary University –Bloechl Center (2929 N 92nd Street, Milwaukee, WI). The event will feature some of the uncommitted top senior prospects from the metro Milwaukee, Greater Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Fresh Coast Classic Chairman Willie Wade indicated “that he’s ecstatic over the exposure opportunities and potential scholarship opportunities we can provide young men in our community, along with matching up with some of the top senior players from the Ohio & Indiana areas. Additionally, ability to expand and strengthen the brand and overall profile of the Fresh Coast Classic …” Fresh Coast Classic Senior Showcase – is also an approved NCAA certification event, which allows Division I & II, III and NAIA certified – basketball coaches to attend and observe.

- Game 1 – Team Milwaukee West vs TBA
- Game 2 – Team Milwaukee East vs Team Cincinnati

The 2014 Fresh Coast Basketball Classic is in it’s eighth year and has grown to become one of the top sporting events in the Metro Milwaukee Midwest area, as it rivals the Chicago Football and Circle City Classics. The classic event begins with our Annual College and Resource Fair, which takes place on Tuesday, November 25th with a projected attendance of 4,500+ in attendance. This years fair will be hosted on the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee campus.
This year our 2-day tournament will take place on Friday, November 28th & Saturday, November 29th at the UWM Klotsche Center (3409 N. Downer Ave., Milwaukee, WI) showcasing 11 top suburban and Milwaukee high school teams. Back and bigger than ever will be the MEGA Drumline Showcase, featuring teams and performances from around the Metro area. Awards will be presented to the top drumline teams along with some guest celebrity appearances. On Saturday, November 29th, come and enjoy our special half time performance at 6:15pm during the Milwaukee Vincent and Waukesha West game by the Roselette Dancers of the Clinton Rose Center.
New to the classic! Our corporate and Fresh Coast Classic sponsors will pay special tribute to members of the North-Lincoln State Basketball Teams recognizing surviving members of the 1959-North-Lincoln championship teams. The tribute filmed by the Wisconsin Black Historical Society will be highlighted during Friday nights tournament game between Milwaukee Riverside and Pewaukee at 6:15pm. In conjunction, we will be in celebration of the 100th year anniversary of high school boys basketball.

Are you ready for some basketball? For another year, the Fresh Coast Classic is preparing to bring to the City of Milwaukee some of the nations top college players and the midwest top high school teams to compete on the wood in a 2-day tournament. Along with the MPS high school competition, come and enjoy our 2013 Historical Black College teams. Winston-Salem State will return to defend their 2012 championship title. The additional teams chosen are Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA), Lane College (Jackson, TN) and Central State University (Wilberforce, OH).

2012 Fresh Coast Classic MVP – Marcus Wells – Winston-Salem State University
MILWAUKEE – Wakefield Ellison scored 18 points Saturday night to lead Winston-Salem State to a 63-57 victory against St. Leo in the championship game of the Fresh Coast Classic.
Ellison, a senior who comes off the bench, made 5 of 8 shots from the field and 6 of 8 from the foul line to lead the Rams, who hit 6 of 7 free throws in the final 1:23 to seal the win. (Click here to read the full story)
